U-Start Conference is an international event held in Milan every May and powered by U-Start.
The mission of U-Start conference is to make high potential startups grow, get invested and be involved into an international startup ecosystem made up of top players.
U-Start Conference connects investors and entrepreneurs from different ecosystems, building up the so-called U-Entrepreneurs global network. The coverage of the event reflects the strong presence of U-Start in some of the most promising emerging markets, such as Brazil, South Africa, Chile, Turkey and Russia.
The first edition of the U-Start Conference was hosted in 2013 under the name Bloom, and saw the participation of over 600 delegates, 80 investors, 15 accelerators and 100 startups from Europe, Africa, South America and Russia.
The format of the Conference:
- 18 of the most innovative start-ups go head to head and compete for final stage funding in a live pitch event to an active arena of family offices, angel investors, VCs and private high net-worth investors, leading to the selection of the overall global winner. Each of the start-ups were chosen through a rigorous vetting process at each stage of U-Start’s satellite conference series held in São Paulo, Cape Town, Moscow and Lugano ;
- Defining industry leaders provide their take on the future of the SME eco-system, delivered via exclusive Investor Roundtable discussions, key-note speeches and seminars;
- One - to- one meetings established between venture capitalists, family offices, business angels and start-ups and early stage companies in an exclusive networking area.
