MIX - Museum Interaction Experience srls

Application Sector
Leadership in Enabling and Industrial Technologies

MIX is a digital platform created for communication and promoting cultural heritage using new digital technologies.

It comprises a web-tool for easy uploading of content without requiring knowledge of programming languages, and a series of mobile applications for smartphones, tablets, and smartglass that make use of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality options. Users can interact with different types of information in real, mixed, or completely immersive contexts, at home or in museums and archaeological sites.

What makes our app innovative is giving museum directors and curators the option of varying exhibition sequences in complete autonomy. This reduces the cost of managing multimedia services and hardware, shifting resources towards the internal creation of innovative and attractive content. In addition, museum managers can quickly assess the response of visitors and establish where along the itinerary they dedicate more or less attention in order to intervene and improve the experience in the future.

MIX is offered in two formulas:

  • Infrastructure as a service, with a customized platform for each individual museum and paying the cost of setting up and maintaining a dedicated app for each museum route. Or development of a specific project with an annual management and maintenance cost.

  • Software as a service, when users pay by e-commerce for each individual content package distributed on the MIX app. Access is temporary and can be used for exhibitions, promotions, and various types of event.

To date MIX has collaborated with the Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro and Filangieri Civic Museum in Naples, with the MEIS [National Museum of Italian Judaism and the Shoah], and with the National Archaeological Museum of Ferrara.

In March we completed the incubation process of the EmilBanca-BCC “BATTITI” program for saving kilowatts. The platform has also been validated for the B2B sector, in support of training and maintenance (Industry 4.0) with the Marko system of the company WeAR srl, and has been adopted in Italy by ENEL and Vodafone.
