The project aims to develop an advanced automatic analysis system for volleyball matches, exploiting artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms like computer vision and predictive analyses. This system will revolutionize scouting and performance analysis, fundamental activities for improving team performance.
Scouting traditionally requires the presence during the match of a data analyst who manually records data for each touch of the ball (player involved, type of play, precision, and action carried out). This data is then used to refine the tags in the currently used software.
The new system will fully automate this process. It will be sufficient to load a match video and the algorithm will automatically analyse the performance, quickly and accurately collecting and organizing all the data.
This software will drastically reduce data insertion time and the resources required for analysis, providing a powerful innovative tool for trainers and teams in all categories.
