The requirements of recent European standards and a demand from consumers for eco-sustainable goods has increased pressure on plastic processors to reduce the percentage of oil-based materials in their products. In response to this Gazza aims to produce fully biodegradable and compostable biopolymers.
Gazza's biopolymers are derived from two natural ingredients: tapioca starch and glycerol.
In addition to being innovative raw materials (no competing company uses them), mixing them in the right proportions generates biopolymers with excellent structural and thermal properties. This allows biopolymers to be processed at high temperatures using the typical machinery used by plastic processors.
Finally, the chemical composition of tapioca starch gives biopolymers excellent blending capacity, enabling the mixing of different biopolymers to achieve specific properties for diverse applications.
