FLEAi S.r.l. is an innovative startup (in Meldola, FC) specialized in process engineering and manufacturing ergonomics. The company originated from the experience of the founder as a factory worker, production manager, and lean specialist, ensuring a practical and methodological approach to the problems of factory efficiency.
Product: Modular Smart Workstation
FLEAi develops and markets an intelligent modular workstation, conceived to support one-piece flow assembly processes. The system was conceived to overcome the rigidity of custom solutions and the ergonomic limitations of standard benches.
Innovation and distinctive technical features
The innovation lies in three basic aspects:
- Flexibility and modularity: The structure provides infinite combinations and quick reconfiguration for process changes. This feature contrasts with the typical rapid obsolescence of made-to-measure workstations.
- Ergonomics and universal adaptability: The system has an integrated electrical height-adjustment mechanism with a load capacity of up to 600 kg. This dynamic adjustment capacity, combined with the workstation's versatility, not only optimizes the well-being of operators but also makes the workstation implicitly adaptable for use by workers with mobility impairments (e.g., wheelchair users).
- Digital integration (moving towards Industry 5.0): The system is designed for integration of sensors and software (SaaS, with additional reporting modules) for digitalizing data collection. This provides management with objective usage and efficiency data, eliminating impression-based decisions.
Market and commercial strategy
The company focuses on Italian "alpha cluster" manufacturers—companies with a turnover above 20 million euros and more than 50 employees.
Regulatory and fiscal advantages: The workstation directly aligns with the two main investment drivers: the obligation for workplace inclusion (Law 68/99), and tax incentives for Industry 5.0 transition and ISI INAIL incentives (for reducing ergonomic risk).
Traction and validation: The solution is currently being field-tested with the launch of case studies with supply to leading industrial players including Leonardo Helicopters, Benelli Armi, and iGuzzini.
Hybrid go-to-market method: The commercial strategy uses a van fitted out as a mobile showroom for quick and direct on-site demonstrations, reducing customer decision lag times.
