KiRa Technology

KiRa Technology has created the BioGS-1.5 micro-cogenerator, a machine that can produce high-efficiency electrical and thermal power for domestic or small business use using a renewable and sustainable energy source: wood biomass.

The innovation behind the creation of this machine was the application of pyrolytic gasification and the Stirling cycle engine to a "micro" sized system. Then CO2 emissions were reduced to a minimum and the machine was adapted for domestic distributed energy production.

The first part of the project was funded by the Emilia-Romagna region thanks to the 2013 Innovative Start-Up grant.
