Film4Sun Soc. coop è uno spin-off del CNR di Parma costituito alla fine del 2012 con l'obbiettivo di sviluppare prodotti fotovoltaici innovativi che possono essere usati per combinare in modo intelligente il consumo e la produzione di energia elettrica negli edifici. 

AgroMateriae was established after three years of research in the laboratories of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, where excellent experimental results led to submission of a patent application for WPL (2019). SaferPlaces is an innovative startup that develops digital technologies based on artificial intelligence, geospatial data, and climate models to support cities, public bodies, and insurers in the assessment and management of risk of floods and other extreme climate events.

Hipert SRL is a spin-off from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy. Established as a limited company in June 2010, Techno GF is engaged in the study, development and application of energy-saving software. Working on the premise that solar radiation behaves in a similar manner to the propagation of radio waves, this startup uses a sophisticated ray tracing program for the prediction of radio coverage in an urban environment, developing it to calculate solar intensity (in collaboration with the Department of Electronics, Computer Science and Systems at the University of Bologna).
