Ri.Circola is an innovative startup that develops digital instruments and strategies for measuring and reducing the environmental impact of professional activities. It transforms operating data into concrete environmental indicators, making sustainability measurable and integrable into company processes.

AgroMateriae was established after three years of research in the laboratories of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, where excellent experimental results led to submission of a patent application for WPL (2019). It was accredited as an innovative startup by the University of Modena, with the objective of ramping up the technology to an industrial scale.

Air Factory is an innovative start-up based in Piacenza and incubated at the Urban Hub. We design and develop services to validate and certify the performance quality of environmental data from test laboratories that monitor atmospheric emissions.

Respyra is a device purposely designed for eliminating viruses and bacteria from the air, while it is also effective for eliminating dust, odours, mould, fungi, and pollen. Thanks to an innovative photocatalytic purification system it can decontaminate indoor air of all pathogenic agents and pollutants through an oxidization process at ambient temperature using the oxygen present in the air and with light produced by specific UV lamps.

OpenTEA is a start-up company providing customised services for the development of e-learning courses within its own web platform, www.opentea.eu.

2G Carbons S.r.l. intend to develop technologies, including a patented system (MgOCarbon), that reduce pollutants in waste water and recover nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorous), transforming them into high-efficiency sustainable fertilizers. The approach establishes a circular economic process that exploits the purification cycle to produce fertilizers and contribute to environmental sustainability.

Bugslab is an innovative startup founded in 2021 with the aim of producing the most sustainable animal protein on the planet.   To achieve this objective, Bugslab focuses on the production of insects for use in pet food (whole or as food components for cats and dogs) and animal feed. In the coming years Bugslab also intend to develop their own brand for the sale of products for humans based on insect flour.  

BathBact is offered as a green alternative to chemical treatment of wastewater. A cocktail of microbes is used to degrade contaminants and recuperate the waste.Our first product is a mobile tank completely free of chemical substances and capable of breaking down waste through the action of aerobic microorganisms.

GQenergy was born with the aim of designing and manufacturing eco-sustainable products. Thanks to its technology, GQenergy aims to change the way of supplying energy to any device with a battery, thus significantly reducing costs and pollution while providing greater autonomy. 

Kinsect have developed an industrial process for producing protein flour for animal feed, based on large scale insect breeding.The startup is in a sector that is growing rapidly in response to a need for protein sources. The EU imports more than 60% of the protein used for animal feed and a recent general increase in prices has been caused by growing demand from breeders, falling fish yields from the sea, expansion limits on agricultural land, and also climate change.

Established as a limited company in June 2010, Techno GF is engaged in the study, development and application of energy-saving software. Working on the premise that solar radiation behaves in a similar manner to the propagation of radio waves, this startup uses a sophisticated ray tracing program for the prediction of radio coverage in an urban environment, developing it to calculate solar intensity (in collaboration with the Department of Electronics, Computer Science and Systems at the University of Bologna). 

Wood Innovation develops innovative production methods based on bamboo, aiming for sustainability and digitalization.By introducing new technologies (advanced glueing system, 3D printers, workstations, and software), the startup plans to improve the quality, efficiency, and competitiveness in the eco-sustainable materials sector.
