SocialCities was founded in 2014, with an initial team of 5 developers and digital strategists, to create the LocalJob project. Launched as an innovative Startup, it won numerous awards, including TimWcap, Amazon Web Services and Startup Chile.

ELEMENTS - Enabling Technologies for Life Science. Elements manufactures scientific measurement instrumentation for nanosensors (natural or artificial sensors of nanometric dimensions), with custom designed microchips.

Alga&Zyme Factory is an R&D company focussed on the development of innovative biotechnology solutions for systems and processes that improve environmental and economic sustainability within the agro-industrial, agro-energy, cosmeceutical and nutraceutical sectors.

The innovation of Alga & Zyme Factory consists in the combination of two previously independent areas of production - production of microalgae for biomass, and the synthesis of hydrolytic enzymes in tobacco plants - in order to:

Kopjra is the brainchild of a group of computer science and law students looking to find entrepreneurial synergy in their respective business areas.

The company's core business is currently internet copyright protection, with a view to acquiring the technologies and expertise to enable expansion into trademark, patent and privacy protection.

Kopjra is one of the TIM #WCAP Bologna 2014 startup batch, one of the EIT ICT Labs coached companies and has received initial funding from BAN Custodi di Successo.

Werealize.it is a crowdfunding platform that offers designers and digital craftsmen the opportunity to target their innovative product ideas to an interested community, from whom they request financial support for an initial production (micro-series). In return, the lenders will receive a preview of a limited set of products that they have helped to create, often with a touch of personalisation.

There are three innovative elements to the project:

ChemStamp (Services for Traceability, Authenticity and the Monitoring of Process and Product) began life as a university spin-off and aims to create services for companies in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Its objectives are as follows:

1. the support and protection of the quality of the product

2. the control and monitoring of the raw materials used in the production process

3. the control and monitoring of the processes designed to reduce time and costs and improve the quality of the finished product

FitStadium is a training app devised by the Cesena team of the same name.

The startup was founded by Denis Brighi and Luca Domeniconi, graduates in Computer Engineering at Cesena, and Milos Jankovic, a Telecommunications Engineering graduate at Bologna.

FitStadium's primary objective was to offer all fitness enthusiasts an online meeting point: so in September 2012, the FitStadium.com social network was launched.
